Bettoja-Hotels: Maurizio Bettoja bought the Restaurant Massimo
dAzeglio, an old osteria near the Santa Maria
Maggiore church, in 1875 and this was the beginning of the Bettoja-Hotels
that after 5 generations is one of the biggest family owned hotel
chains in Italy: 4 hotels in Rome and 1 in Florence with totally
1000 rooms. The different hotels has been renovated during the
years but the old stile and decoration has been kept. All rooms
has been provided with modern comfort but vary in size and kind
of furniture.
The Massimo D'Azeglio is located on Via Cavour
between Piazza dei Cinquecento (Termini train station) and Santa
Maria Maggiore, in 10 minutes on foot you reach Via Nazionale
a big shopping street and to walk to the Spanish Steps takes about
20-25 minutes.
This hotel is unique because of it's large amount of single rooms
- over 100. Within the hotel there is common areas, bar and restaurant
and a level down there is wine cellar that in some occasions can
be used for particular events. All the rooms has shower/WC, telephone,
TV, mini-bar, internal music, air-con and sound proof windows.
