The Opera Festival in Verona
To be able to see an Opera at the Arena of Verona is every opera
lovers dream, join this tour and your dream will come true. |
We will be staying in the town of Desenzano by the lake of Garda,
doing daily excursions by boat and bus, visiting both Verona and
Sirmione. The tour ends with a visit in a wine yard with tasting
and lunch.
Day 1 Arrival to Desenzano
 Our
tour leader meets us in the airport of Milano, by bus we drive in
to the centre of the city, for a quick look at the exterior of La
Scala Theater and the Duomo with the close by Galleria. During the
afternoon we reach our hotel by the lake in Desenzano del Garda.
Dinner together in nearby restaurant.
Day 2 Desenzano and Verona
 In
the morning we make an introduction walk in the town seeing the
rests from a Roman Villa and the Cathedral with a painting of Giov.

After lunch and afternoon on your own we drive to Verona for a
dinner together before we enter the Arena to see the performance,
our bus brings us back to Desenzano at the end.
 Day
3 Desenzano and Sirmione
After a short walk in the town with our tour leader, we take a
boat that brings us to Sirmione, surrounded by olive and fig trees.
We have lunch together before going back to Desenzano.
Rest of the day and dinner on your own.
Day 4 Verona
 After
morning and lunch on your own our bus brings us to Verona, we
take a walk in the old historical part of town with it's narrow
streets and beautiful squares. In this city there is left over
from Roman time and many buildings show the welfare of the city
during 1200-1300. Much of the middle age atmosphere is left, together
with the romantic story of Romeo and Juliet, at the palace of
the  Capuleti
family we can see the balcony of Juliet.
Around the Arena there is a good choice of restaurants where you
can choose to have your dinner, before the evenings performance
starts.
At the end of the performance our bus brings us back to the hotel
in Desenzano.
Day 5 Departure
We leave Desenzano driving west, making a stop at a wine yard
close to Bergamo. Valcalepio is the wine district north of Verona.
The famous wine makers open their cellars for visits and wine
tasting.
We will try some of the produced wines and finish with a lunch
based on the typical products from this area.
Our bus brings us to the airport for departure.
