Discovering Tuscia: beautiful natural landscapes and enchanting
private gardens.

Day 1: Arrival
Arrival
and accommodation at the hotel, welcome drink
Visit to Montefiascone and wine tasting of the famous Est!Est!!Est!!!
(the German nobleman John Defuk was travelling to Rome, and he
asked one of his servant to go ahead to find good wine in the
several taverns
along the way. Whenever he found it, he wrote "Est"
on the inn door. In Montefiascone the wine was so good that he
wrote the word 'Est' three times ('Est, Est, Est') on the inn
door. Visit to San Flaviano's Church where Defuk was buried. Back
to the Hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Marta - Bolsena lake - Vetriolo
Visit
to Marta, an enchanting village near Lake Bolsena. Visit
to the private garden La Cannara with a beautiful Etruscan building
rising in the middle of the garden. Boat trip to Bisentina
Island and guided tour of the island. The Princess "Del
Drago", the owner of this charming island, restored and opened
to the public the beautiful gardens which were once the treasure
of the Farnese family. Lunch on your own. In the afternoon departure
to Vetriolo and visit to the Hortus Unicorn garden.
Back to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Bracciano - Castel Giuliano
Visit
to San Liberato Gardens. Owned by Conti Sanminiatelli they
were designed by the famous English architect Russell Page. Lunch
on your own near Lake Bracciano. In the afternoon visit to Castel
Giuliano, owned by the Marchesa Patrizi, with its remarkable
collection of rare roses.
Back to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4 : Caprarola - Bagnaia
Departure
to Caprarola and visit to Palazzo Farnese. Built for cardinal
Alessandro Farnese towards the end of the 16th century, the palace
was designed by Vignola. It is one of the purest examples of late
Renaissance architecture. The tour continues to Villa Lina at
Ronciglione; visit and lunch inside the villa.
In the afternoon visit to Bagnaia and to the enchanting
Villa Lante. This villa, with its Italian garden, is an
example of those wonderful Renaissance works of art which rose
around Viterbo. The ideal centre of the Villa designed by Vignola
is the Fontana dei Quattro Mori. Back to the hotel, dinner and
overnight stay.
Day 5: Bomarzo - Vignanello - Canepina
Visit
to the "Parco dei Mostri" of Bomarzo, a Renaissance
garden created by prince Orsini. The tour continues to Vignanello;
visit to the castle and its wonderful Italian garden. It is considered
one of the best parterre present in Italy.
Departure to Vasanello for a brunch at the Castello Orsini
Misciatelli.
After lunch, visit to the remarkable medieval garden which is
very rare.
The tour continues to Canepina with a visit to Natalini
garden.
Back to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Bagnoregio - Lubriano - Vaiano - Departure
to Bagnoregio and visit to the garden Porta del Paradiso.
Visit to Civita di Bagnoregio and oil tasting in an ancient 16th
century olive press. Departure to Lubriano and visit to
Palazzo Monaldeschi.
In the afternoon deparure to Vaiano. The group will visit
the Canonica garden and the Vigna garden. Back to the hotel, dinner
and overnight stay.
Day 7: Montegabbione - Scarzuola - Orvieto

Departure to Montegabbione and visit to the Scarzuola
garden. Brunch in the open space near the remarkable monastery.
In the afternoon visit to Orvieto.
Back to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Departure
End of services and departure.
