The National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art hosts a major exhibition on Paul Klee (1879 - 1940) and his relationship with Italy through a structured path with around hundred works, both of Klee and other Italian and foreign artists (Kandinsky, Moholy Nagy, Max Bill, Albers, Licini, Soldiers, Perilli, Novelli, etc.).

It was many years since Rome hosted a more exhaustive exhibition of the works of Joan Miró the great Catalan avant-garde artist.
The exhibition features over 80 works never shown before in Italy, including 50 oils of surprising beauty and of great size, but also pottery, bronzes and watercolors.

Tintoretto at Scuderie del Quirinale

‘The most fearsome brain painting has ever known’ is how Giorgio Vasari described Jacopo Robusti better known as Tintoretto. This revolutionary artist is one of the main Italian 16th century painters and the exhibition at the Scuderie del Quirinale aims to fully illustrate the three main themes that distinguish the great Venetian master’s work.
Caravaggio e la Resurrezione di Lazzaro

The raising of Lazarus is the first work done by Caravaggio in Messina between 1608 and 1609. The painting was intended for the Church of the Fathers Crociferi commissioned by the wealthy Genoese merchant Giovanni Battista at Lazzari family. The canvas will be exposed for the first time ever in Rome at Palazzo Braschi.
Lux in arcana - The Vatican Secret Archive

For the first and possibly only time in history, one hundred original and priceless documents selected among the treasures preserved and cherished by the Vatican Secret Archives for centuries leave the Vatican City walls. And they will do so in order to be housed and displayed in the beautiful halls of the Capitoline Museums in Rome.
